Tiller partially delivered the child, which means he put the mother through the stress of an induced delivery. The stress of a delivery is the only risk to the mother during a birth. So if her life was at risk, why on earth would Tiller put her through the only part of the procedure that risked her life? When a mother is legitimately at risk, the proper procedure is a C-section. Of course, if you do a C-section, you get a live baby, with all those pesky responsibilities. Doctors deliver early term pregnancies all the time, and then do everything to keep that baby alive. A national Hispanic clergy group is asking illegal immigrants not to participate in the U.S. census.
"Before being counted, we need to be legalized," said the Rev. Miguel Rivera, chairman and founder of the National Coalition of Latino Clergy & Christian Leaders.
The Washington-based group, which claims to represent 20,000 Hispanic churches in 34 states, says the boycott is to build pressure for legalizing undocumented immigrants and to resist government scrutiny.
The strategy is wrong. Census takers do not ask whether a person is in the United States legally. Failing to be counted will result in a loss of financial aid for communities and states. Federal assistance for education, housing, health care, transportation and other local needs would be affected, the Los Angeles Times notes.
In addition, the 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are apportioned according to a state's population.
The Hispanic group says it has convinced 1 million illegal immigrants to boycott the next census in 2010.
Many other Hispanic groups are upset by the initiative. An editorial in La Opinion, a Spanish-language newspaper in California, called the initiative a "dangerous mistake" that "verges on political suicide." The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials termed it "wildly irresponsible."
In a larger sense, we need to know how many people reside in the United States. People have an obligation to be counted. It is best for the country, the states and municipalities to have an accurate count.

JACOB & JODEE ARE VERY LUCKY. THERE ARE NOT TOO MANY INLAWS LIKE DICK AND DEE. THEY ARE OLD AND THEY HAVE ALREADY RAISED THEIR KIDS. VERY GENOROURS OF THEM TO TAKE ON NUKE'S KIDS AND PROVIDE THEM A SAFE HOME FREE FROM THE ABUSE OF THEIR MENTALLY UNSTABLE PARENTS.
Some states are now trying to pass laws making it mandatory for mothers to view an ultrasound of their baby before it is aborted.
